Bonsai Elements

Fermain House

A new build project for two of the nicest clients one could hope to work with. They chose something unusual for Guernsey in the form of an attractive and unusual 'New England' style property and approached Bonsai for three timber floors and a selection of high quality ironmongery for their doors and windows.

For the front room and TV lounge/snug the clients selected a 'Sensu' engineered European oak finished with ebony oil and in the kitchen they chose a stunning 'Diamond White' oak from our new Artwood range. Two opposite ends of the spectrum which sit beautifully together in the property and are reminiscant of the bold black and white tiles in the entrance hall which join the rooms together. The ebony floors are sealed with clear hard-wax oil; an ever popular finish which is attractive and tough enough for any room in the house.  The clients love to cook and spend a lot of time in the kitchen so that floor goes a step on by being tougher still, pigmented with an amazing pure white (unique to Artwood who can also create pure flat colours of any kind) and sealed with an immensely tough commercial-strength lacquer. An impressive combination and surely one of the best floors we have had the pleasure in installing!

The ironmongery was from Turnstyle Designs; designed and manufactured in Britain, chosen first and foremost for its exceptional quality and style options.

The following are some of the companies which Bonsai worked alongside:
